Matt McBurnie, Vice President of Public Relations and Communication at Riverside Healthcare, was appointed to his current position in 2015 after joining Riverside in 2007 as the Executive Director of the Riverside Healthcare Foundation.  He previously served as Executive Director of the United Way of Kankakee County, as youth pastor at College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, IL and as resident director for Olivet Nazarene University.  

Mr. McBurnie earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet Nazarene University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Chicago. He is a fellow in Charitable Estate Planning.  He is a board member of Olivet Nazarene University, Municipal Trust and Savings Bank, GatheringPoint Church of the Nazarene, and serves as vice chairman of the Kankakee Riverfront Society. Previously he served on a number of community boards including as chairman of the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce. He was the first to be chosen as Kankakee County’s “Young Citizen of the Year”. 

Matt and his wife Marsha are the proud parents of four children, Andrew, Adelynn, Caleb, and Katie.  In Matt’s free time, he participates in theatre productions, the most recent as Professor Harold Hill in Kankakee Valley Theatre’s 2021 production of The Music Man.
